At Buckeye Auto Gifts, we are committed to enhancing the lives of Ohio's seniors through vital meal programs that ensure they receive the nutrition they need. Our partner programs deliver meals to homebound seniors through Meals on Wheels and provide congregate meals at local senior centers. These services address the growing issue of food insecurity among the elderly, a population that often faces challenges in accessing nutritious meals.
Your donation of a vehicle not only generates funds for these meal programs but also symbolizes the community’s commitment to caring for its elderly members. The proceeds from your car donation can help facilitate essential services like nutrition-risk assessments, safety check-ins with meal deliveries, and weekend or holiday meal bags, ensuring that no senior in our community is left behind.

↗Real impact, real numbers
Your generous donation can have a profound impact on our senior community. For instance, a donation of $1,500 can fund over 200 Meals on Wheels home-delivered meals, each including a safety check for seniors. If you decide to donate $2,500, that could support over 300 home-delivered meals or over 600 congregate meals at senior centers, significantly increasing the reach of vital nutrition services in your area. At the highest donation tier of $5,000, more than 700 home-delivered meals can be funded, directly improving the lives of local seniors while ensuring their nutritional needs are met in a safe manner.
How we vet recipient partners
We prioritize working with reputable partners that meet stringent accountability criteria to ensure that your donations are used effectively. We prefer to partner with Area Agencies on Aging that are contracted providers, as they adhere to federal and state accountability standards. Additionally, our partners are members of the Meals on Wheels America network and comply with the Older Americans Act Title III-C nutrition standards. This means your contributions are going to programs that are well-vetted, financially sound, and responsive to the needs of seniors.
How proceeds flow
Once your vehicle donation is processed, approximately 70-80% of the gross proceeds will reach our partner programs after covering towing and processing costs. From there, we apply a program ratio to ensure that funds are directed toward specific services, maximizing the impact of every dollar donated. This means that your generosity will directly support essential meal delivery services that nourish and safeguard our senior community.
